I'm goinna go out on a limb here and guess not all of you are comic fanboys, like yours truely. If you are, then the title of this entry sums up who I'm gonna talk about: Deadpool. He's maybe my charcter of all time, and so few people have heard of him. Here's the deal with him.

Deadpool is a mercanary named Wade Wilson(or maybe not) who will do anything for a price. And he's good at it. That's where the cliches end. You see, he has one power. When he found out he had cancer, he went to the goverment seeking a cure. They gave him the only thing around that could stop the cancer. A copy of Wolverines(you've heard of him) healing factor. Unfortunatly, upon seeing Death herself so many times taking his cellmates, Deadpool had fallen in love with her. Because he could now never join her(thanks to that healing factor) Wade lost the last bits of his sanity and went psycotic. Nowadays, he's an unstoppable killing machine. You hire him, he'll get the job done. He has a love of porn and Taco Bell, and a strange fixation with Bea Arthur. To distrace his enemies, he'll make jokes in fights(ala Spiderman). He once fought a man named Black Talon, who's costume was a chicken head. He spent 12 panels laughing uncontrolably at the man. He's completly aware of the the fact he's in a comic, and was described for a while as breaking down the fourth wall, one brick at a time.

His best pals incluse Weasel, the frail little tech guy who has no luck with the ladies and Blind Al, the frail and prank pulling blind old chick. Later, he teams up with a chubby german pilot Lliven and a crippled realist with no skin Monty.

why I love Deadpool is because of what happens to Wade. After getting a crush on X-man in-training Siryn, Wad finds himself wanting more. He suddenly wants to do something with his life. He....wants to be a hero! Well, thanks to a terrible emotional attack by even-more-psycotic-than-thou Typhod Mary and a vicious physical beatdown from giant-albino-sorceror-with-a-vendetta- T-Ray, he changes his oppinon. But no matter what he does, Wade just can't stop trying to be a hero.

As Deadpool said himself, "I'm like that retarded squirl from that cartoon. He finds a coconut and thinks it's the mother acorn. But he can't crack it. He finally breaks it and the shell parts...to reveal another cocunut shell."

No matter how many times he gets what he wants, there's always another shell underneath. But just like like that cartoon reruning, he'll go and open that shell again.

I'm asking evreyone to go find his comics and read 'em. Dosne't matter who you are, you'll love his insane humor, great action, and random observations.
